does it matter that I saw this on the Daily Show first?

Then I saw it again on Rebecca's Pocket. The government has created fake news spots and sent them to various stations to play as part of their regular news segments. The "reporters" are actually paid actors, save for Tommy Thompson. I guess he really is a paid actor, too, since he is getting compensation for saying what they want him to.

I am really interested to see how this plays out and gets spun.

I saw that on the Daily Show, too. Figures - it takes one to know one? (fake news) Interesting to see if it does even get picked up as a story by the "real" news.

I can't seem to find a video of the actual spots to watch. Anyone have a link?

You might try looking on the Daily Show website: http://www.comedycentral.com/tv_shows/thedailyshowwithjonstewart/ for some footage.
