This quiz was fun and Dave was able to give me a lot of insight into the meaning of my results. And to be honest, it all seemed pretty accurate!

I got the death card, which was a bit unsettling. But the description certainly fit.

Sorry I didn't get around to this sooner, but here's some more information taken from my sources and Crowley's books regarding The Star card. I think it certainly fits you.
Devotion to the moment. Spiritual introspection, insight into the perfection of the cosmos, renewal, and rebirth. Creative hope (maintaining a conception of what is possible).
It is not only the card of hope but also stands for the unconscious desire to abandon oneself in the streams of flowing delight and cheerful irresponsibility. The Star represents intuitive understanding of cosmic correlations and trust in the laws of the absolute.
Its Archetype is the water of life. Its letter 'He' in Hebrew, or 'H' in English. It's numerical value in Hebrew being 5 and standing for the word 'Window', symbol of the longing for the angels and for the world of stars that have been dreamed.
The number for The Star is 17, a number of new hope. Its path on the Tree of Life is from Chokmah to Tiphareth, the first manifestation of the divine in contact with the physical reality.
Its Zodiac sign is Aquarius. Its deities are Nuit, first and foremost, as well as Aphrodite/Venus, Astarte, Ishtar, Isis, the seven priestesses of the Oracle. Its mythology is the eternal becoming and dying of all ages, world, and creations. Its cult sites is the Garden of the Eumenides (on the Kolonos hill near Athens), the Gardens of Hesperidesm, the Islands of the Blessed, and the Rhine Cliffs of the Lorelei.
Its Sabbath is the Festival of the Liberation of the Spring Waters, a Tibetian celebration at the first full moon after the rising of Sirius (Dog Star). Its ritual is a purification bath, a symbol of renewal and contemplation.
Its picture is The Birth of Venus by Botticelli. Its writing is the Song of Solomon. Its music is the Song of the Rhine Daughters by Wagner. Fragrances are Jasmine, rose, ophire, and almond oil.
Astrology is Jupiter in Aquarius in the sense of confidence and farsightedness, or Venus in Pisces as an expression of longing for the unfathomable and striving for God.
Hope that gives some deeper understanding. It was spot on for a lot of Joe's stuff. And even a bit creepy when it said his ritual was sleepwalking (which he does).

Thanks, David. It does highlight a lot of things that are spot on, even ones I am not terribly proud of, "the unconscious desire to abandon oneself in the streams of flowing delight and cheerful irresponsibility" to be specific. I am certainly spiritually introspective. And yes, baths are my favorite ritual, or immersion in water somehow (like washing dishes). This is different from swimming, as the ritual has to do with cleaning for it to mean something to me. Interesting that all the deities are female.
Which of Crowley's books is your reading from? I am still building my library and can't believe I missed a tarot book. I am going to go check my Jungian tarot meanings too, just for giggles.

Most of the info comes from a book I bought when I purchased my Thoth deck, it's called The Crowley Tarot: A Handbook to the Cards. It's by two more modern tarot writers but they take a lot of the information from pieces Crowley has written over the years. For a good, albeit sometimes confusing, and comprehensive book on the tarot, and the Thoth one in particular, Crowley's The Book Of Thoth is very informative.

Can someone please tell me, or direct me to a site to learn what certain major arcana cards in the Crowley deck "translate" to / from in the traditional Rider-Waite? (Art, for example--what was "art" formally?) Though I know Crowley's meanings are far and beyond traditional, it still helps me in readings to know what the card stemmed from.
Peace&love,
jennifer
