I don't know what's wrong. Here take this pill.
Well it looks like what I thought was a summer cold may actually have been a serious reaction to a bite, probably spider, on my hip.
Symptoms: Runny nose, congestion, high fever (101.8 F at its peak), achy. A bite that first looked like a mosquito set up permanent house on my hip that eventually turned hard, hot and bruised looking. No black core or necrosis, so Brown Recluses were ruled out.
I was given Augmentin 875 mg twice a day. Sometime yesterday I also started to itch everywhere and my skin was so red it looked like I had been sunburned slightly. It was rashlike, like an allergic reaction.
Finally the doctor recommended taking an antihistamine. Since then, things are clearing up. The symptoms aren't as severe, although they are still present. Whatever bit me must be pretty toxic, or I never encountered it before. I am not usually allergic to bug bites.
I'm just glad it isn't contagious.

Yikes! That's, well, that's kind creepy. They have big spiders down there, don't they? If the earth warms up I'm moving to Canada. Just because of the bugs. ;-)
