just had to share
I just got home from a birthday party for a friend of mine. We had drumming and dancing and we did some henna tattoos. These will last from a few days to a few weeks. I decided to get mine done on my back. Here's a pic.

Thanks! That's the great thing about henna. If I didn't like it, and I do, it will be gone in a while. Clean slate!

Somewhere (between teddy bears and my missing pots and pans, probably) I have a book on Henna Tattooing (The Husband was going to take it up, once), and if I recall correctly, you set it with either lemon juice or sugar water. Maybe both?

Both, you are right. That shine you see is a sugar-lemon water. I didn't know that either till Friday. The henna stayed pliant through the night and was still on in the morning. That's an amazing long time, and the longer it stays, the darker it will get. I think it will last longer, too.
I bet both of you would have some great designs.
