Playwright Arthur Miller is dead at age 89.

Highlights of his life include a Pulitzer Prize for Death of a Salesman, writing plays we all had to read in high school such as The Crucible, and getting to legally sleep with Marilyn Monroe. In that way, he was a trendsetter, setting the stage for bespectacled geeks to catch hot women and then realize they are more trouble than they are worth.

Frankly, I think Miller was a genius at capturing the human condition in his plays. I enjoy the angsty Death of a Salesman and the anger I felt when reading The Crucible. I think it's time I go re-read them.

I haven't read Death of a Salesman yet, but that strong character is still fresh in my mind. I saw the play only one time, twenty years ago, in Chile. I was in the earlier twenties. I saw many plays within the following five years and forgot most of them, including Ricardo III. I read “The Cat on the hot zinc roof” last year and I got impressed. The conversation between Brick and his father when this tells him about his trip to Spain after the war, it seems will join the salesman for long. I still don’t understand how come some writers can take us to those unknown places of the human being, in such as short trip. It doesn’t matter if you read the script or if you go to the theater, the characters are alive even with no actors. Of course, a great performance is always welcome. Trust me, some authors has got the power to make real people emerge from a page. Sometimes, those people can be yourself and, if you can note it, you are seeing something really great. Only few writers' ve got talent.
