I've been tagged!
From the Unseen Blogger I have been tagged to select five of the following and write what I would do if...
If I could be a scientist...
If I could be a farmer...
If I could be a musician...
If I could be a doctor...
If I could be a painter...
If I could be a gardener...
If I could be a missionary...
If I could be a chef...
If I could be an architect...
If I could be a linguist...
If I could be a psychologist...
If I could be a librarian...
If I could be a lawyer...
If I could be an inn-keeper...
If I could be an athlete...
If I could be a professor...
If I could be a writer...
If I could be a llama rider...
If I could be a bonnie pirate...
If I could be an astronaut...
If I could be a world famous blogger...
If I could be a justice on any one court in the world...
If I could be married to any current famous political figure...
If I could be a dog trainer...
If I could be a scientist I would come up with new ways to grow food to its highest nutritional potential, discover ways to make the land in famine-stricken countries arable, and start making sure that all the people in the world had enough good food to eat that they could live healthier lives. I would also come up with a way to get people in the US to slow down and take better care of themselves. Maybe that's for another occupation.
If I could be a linguist, I would come up with new languages and study how language develops so I could really create something akin to the Tower of Babel, so all people could understand each other. Then I'd see someone about making a perspective gun like the one in the Hitchhiker's movie. :) Hey, this is fantasy, I can do anything in this little scenario!
If I could be a psychologist, I would figure out why people are happier when they have fewer choices (see wartime happiness charts) and then see if I could translate this into a model for people to overcome their own issues by writing a book that was pop enough for people to actually buy it and read it and deep enough to solve some deep issue. I would go on a talk show and lecture circuit and bring strength and mental health to as many people as I could.
If I could be a librarian, I would build the most comprehensive library in the world, along the lines of the Library of Congress. Then I would have a staff put every book into e-book format and create a Netbooks system, like Netflix, so for a small fee (very small) you could borrow books that would be mailed to you. Your membership would include a reader of some kind and the books would be like cartridges. Then I would push to have these readers be as common as telephones and televisions in people's houses, and the ebooks passed around for anyone anywhere to read. This way more people could read and not have to buy books or risk losing or destroying the original copy of a book. Schools would get them donated so their students could use the readers and books.
If I could be an inn-keeper, I would create a building that had rooms that seemed to be separate from all the other rooms, like spokes on a wheel. The center hub would be the main area where the common rooms and the kitchens are. That way guests can interact with other guests only as much as they want. Each room would have a wonderful view and lots of room, with a small kitchenette. If the occupants wanted, they could acheive the feeling they were alone in their little part of the world. Walk a few steps and instant company and interaction with other humans. The choice is always theirs.
So now apparently I need to tag someone else. Tvindy, Doc, and Anne, you're up! I hope you decide to play along. :)

Alicia tagged me with this particular meme (which I first saw at Bill's). I'm supposed to choose five of the hypothetical futures listed below and apply them to me. If I could be a scientist...If I could be a farmer...If [Read More]

Your inn sounds just like the retirement community I went to see with my folks! Unfortunately it's too expensive for them. If I were a bonnie pirate I'd have enough gold to buy my parents an apartment there. ;-)
