how to help in this crisis

Just a quick note to draw attention to the new "Worthy Causes" link, aiding the victims of Hurricane Katrina through the American Red Cross. Please donate if you haven't already. I am also going to give blood with some friends of mine next week.

alicia...i was just coming by because i've gotten myself all involved in hurricane relief efforts myself. and now we're mobilizing to prepare for efforts that may be necessary in texas. i'm looking for bloggers and bodies on the ground in the galveston area. i realize you're in austin, but wondering if you perhaps know of peeps in that area?

you can go to http://gracedavis.typepad.com/katrinablog/

and read all about our efforts in the gulf region. we'd like to be ready for RITA, should she really turn into a category 4 and slam into texas.
